Don’t worry, we’ll get you safely to and from the festival area!

Travelling by bus is one of the easiest and greenest ways to travel. Scientific research shows its also a lot of fun to be on a bus with tons of rock-fans!  We can supply you with bus tickets to and from Oslo, to Fredrikstad and to Sarpsborg. See under for departure times, locations and where you can buy tickets.

The busses to/from Oslo run directly between The Norwegian Opera and the festival location.

The bus to Fredrikstad stops at Fredrikstad r.b st.

The bus to Sarpsborg stops both at Quality hotel and Sarpsborg center.

All tickets are single tickets. NB! You will additionally be needing a festival pass.

Tons of Train

In cooperation with NSB we offer the Tons of rock audience a brand new, unik, rocking, environmentally friendly transportation, with a Tons of Train from Trondheim – Halden

Festival manager Svein Bjørge tells: “We are very pleased to get a cooperation with NSB and a Tons of Rock Train from Trondheim – Halden. We see that the festival had a huge audience i Trondheim and along the Dovrebanen in general, so with this cooperation we give the audience a unique experience to start the festival at the train. In addition this is an environmentally friendly way to travel to and from the festival, which is also important to Tons of Rock. This will be fun. Almost like i want to take the journey myself. “  

With Tons of Rock the Rock and metal audience has gotten its very own annual gathering place. On three years the festival has established itself as one of the country’s largest and unique festivals. Last year there were 24.000 audiences from 31 nationalities in Halden to participate in one of Europe’s most hard-hitting and outstanding festivals.

Unique train ride with NSB

– We think it is tough with a Tons of Rock Train. “A train ride from Trondheim to Halden can be boring to begin with, but with a festival vibe on board the journey will be one big adventure. The festival simply starts at the train. The ride sounds like a possibility to get to know others who is going to Tons of Rock in Halden.  With this NSB wishes to show that we sell experiences to our guests. This will be a unique train ride! NSB also sets up a proper rocked conductors.” says Head of Marketing in NSB Terje Fossum.   

Cheaper, environmentally friendly and no quiet zone.

For half price of an original train ticket will the audience get the chance to start the festival in Trondheim already on thursday morning the 22th of June and to travel with likeminded. There will be entertainment on the train to the festival. a very own rock-DJ and serving of suitable beverages.

The homeride for Halden you choose freely after your own wishes.

In Halden Tons of Rock will prove in its massive environments at Fredriksten fortress. Her the audience will experience concerts with artists like Sabaton, Satyricon, Emperor, Airborne and so much more.

 

Tons of Rock Train is a scheduled public train from Trondheim Thursday morning the 22th of June at 08:18am, and will arrive in Oslo Central station at 15:04pm. The festival audience will have their own carriages on the train. In  Oslo ther will be a train swap til R20 to Halden.
