GUIDELINES FOR VOLUNTEERING VIA ASSOCIATIONS

To work as a volunteer at Tons of Rock, you must read and confirm that you understand these guidelines. Your association’s contact person will receive more detailed information via email regarding tasks, dress code, meeting times, and other important details. This information must be shared with all volunteers.

Work and Attendance

  • Follow the instructions from your supervisor.
  • You must check in and out for each shift.
  • You must be sober and present throughout your entire shift for your work to be approved.
  • Breaks will be organized by the supervisor.
  • You are not allowed to be inside the festival area outside of your assigned working hours.

Food and Drinks

  • Coffee, water, fruit, and snacks will be provided during your shift.
  • Whether you can access the festival's catering or need to bring your own food will be clarified with your association’s contact person.

Transport and Accommodation

  • Tons of Rock does not cover travel or accommodation.

Dress Code

  • You must wear the t-shirt provided to you during your shift.
  • After your shift, you can either take the t-shirt home or return it at check-in if you do not wish to keep it.

Alcohol and Drugs

  • You must be sober while on duty.
  • Alcohol and other drugs are strictly prohibited both before and during your shift.
  • Violating this rule will result in immediate dismissal without payment, and you will lose the right to continue working.

Changes in Tasks

  • Tasks and schedules may change.
  • If there are major changes, the association’s contact person will be notified via email.
  • You must be prepared to take on other tasks if needed.

Payment

  • Payment is based on the actual number of hours worked.
  • After the festival, the association’s contact person will receive an overview of the total hours worked and the final payment amount.

Absence

  • If you are unable to attend your shift, your association must find a replacement.
  • Notify the festival as soon as possible.

Press and Sensitive Information

  • It is strictly forbidden to speak on behalf of the festival.
  • If you receive inquiries from the police, fire department, liquor authorities, media, or similar, refer them to the Tons of Rock press contact:

  • As a volunteer, you may gain access to sensitive information about the festival. This information is confidential, and confidentiality applies both during and after your engagement.
